Technologies at Our Dental Clinics
Our goal is to keep patients fully informed about their oral health and their treatment plans. Dental technology provides our team with the information they need to accurately diagnose and treat a variety of oral health conditions.
Technology can help our dentists identify oral health concerns that are hidden below the gum lines, and plan their treatment accordingly. We can also utilize intraoral scanners to get a good look inside your mouth and create a digital replica of your teeth to inform treatment planning.
We will use our available technology to show you what we see, and walk you through why we have crafted your treatment plan the way we have.
Digital X-Rays
Using digital sensors instead of traditional photographic X-ray film, our dentists are able to capture detailed computer images of your oral structures and potential dental conditions that they cannot see with the naked eye.
Panoramic X-Rays
A panoramic X-ray creates a single flat, wide image of your entire mouth that represents your teeth, upper jaw, lower jaw, temporomandibular joints (TMJ), and the nasal and sinus structures.
Dental Lasers
Focused light beams or 'lasers' can be used in a variety of soft and hard tissue procedures. Our dentists use lasers to remove overgrown or decayed tissue, reshape the gums, harden dental restorations quickly, or whiten teeth.
Intraoral Scanners
Intraoral scanners provide an alternative to traditional dental impressions. Using an optical scanning wand, your dentist will take a digital image of your teeth that can then be used to create replicas of the hard and soft tissues of your mouth.
Oral Cancer Screening Device
The VELscope® is an oral cancer screening device that helps your dentist identify abnormalities in your mouth, such as cancerous and pre-cancerous lesions. Using fluorescence visualization technology, it takes mere minutes to perform.
