What is Restorative Dental Care?

The goal of restorative dental care is to repair your smile so that it functions and looks the way you want it to.

By fixing structural problems such as damaged or missing teeth, our dentists can help restore your smile – and your oral health.

Once your oral health condition has been diagnosed, the dentists at one of our Centre Dentaire VIVA locations will determine the right restorative treatment option for you.

Dental Crowns

Crowns are custom-made porcelain caps that are placed on top of teeth to restore their function and appearance. They are used to attach bridges, cover dental implants or prevent a cracked tooth from worsening. Crowns can also help restore a discoloured or stained tooth to its natural appearance.

Dental Bridges

Bridges are natural-looking tooth replacements that are bonded to existing teeth or dental implants to replace a section of missing teeth. Custom-made bridges are designed to closely match your natural teeth and can restore the natural contour of teeth.

Inlays & Onlays

Inlays and onlays are tooth-coloured porcelain fillings used to repair cavities when the damage is too extensive for a standard dental filling. They are custom-made and permanently cemented to the tooth as a single piece.

Full & Partial Dentures

Dentures are artificial teeth used to replace one missing tooth or several in a row, or a whole jaw of missing teeth. They allow patients with missing teeth to maintain their facial structure and talk and eat properly.

Periodontal (Gum) Therapy

If gum disease is caught in the early stages, preventive therapy will be recommended. Otherwise, treatment methods will depend on the type and severity of the disease.

Root Canals

A root canal is a procedure in which your dentist removes diseased blood vessels, nerves, and tissues from the interior of a tooth. By removing the decay and bacteria, your dentist may be able to save your tooth and prevent an extraction.

TMJ Disorder Treatment

The temporomandibular joint (TMJ) is a hinge that connects your jaw to the temporal bones of your skull. If this joint becomes disordered, it can cause a host of issues with your jaw and the muscles in your face, including painful symptoms.

Dental Fillings

At Centre Dentaire VIVA, we use tooth-coloured fillings to repair a cavity or cracked tooth. These fillings can withstand moderate pressure from the stress of chewing and can be used on front and back teeth.
